BEATNITE, Norte Maar’s signature neighborhood wide gallery night returns featuring the diverse and exciting community of Downtown Brooklyn! Discover new and established art spaces through a self-guided tour featuring galleries, alternative art spaces, and even the world renowned Mark Morris Dance Center! An official after party will take place at BRIC from 8-10pm . Beat Nite began in 2009 and has continued as a bi-annual event organized by curator Jason Andrew. It has been recognized for putting the Bushwick art scene on the map.
From 6-8pm, the event at BRIC House offer a final opportunity to see and celebrate Kyoung eun Kang’s video installation Omaha Diary I in the Project Room and the open call exhibition in the gallery. It’s also a final chance to vote for the BRICopencall artist you’d like to win the “Viewer’s Choice” prize, which includes a monetary reward of $300 and an article featured on the BRIC Blog. The winner of the “Viewer’s Choice” prize will be announced during Beatnite.
