The Director of Theatre Arts, Jonathan McCrory is making his directorial debut at NBT. HandsUp features monologues written by Nathan James, Nathan Yungerberg, Idris Goodwin, Glenn Gordon, Eric Holmes and Dennis Allen II. Originally commissioned by The New Black Fest, HandsUp is a collection of six monologues written in response to Ferguson, Missouri’s shooting death of and the state of the black male in America.
Betty’s Daughter Arts Collaborative: Ebony Noelle Golden – Founder – will spearhead a convening of Youth in the city to participate in a post show discussion entitled: Liberty vs. Liberation, Monday, Feb 16, 2015.
Performance Schedule: Saturday, February 14, 2015 – No Performance); Thursday & Friday, 7:30pm; Sunday, 4:00pm; Monday, (Presidents’ Day) Matinee, 2:00pm and 7:30pm.
