The Harlem Arts Alliance Visionaries (HAAV) is calling for art submissions for their upcoming Black Music Month exhibit for June 2015. The exhibit will be a salute to artists who have made an impact upon the music industry and those who are continuing to forge new pathways. There will be representation of those musicians who entertain in the village of Harlem.

The exhibit will be on display for the month of June 2015 in the Gallery of the beautiful Harlem Hospital Mural Pavilion. Plans are under development for the opening reception to occur on either June 5, 2015 or June 6, 2015.

Art submissions should reflect the full spectrum of black music and its artists. Please submit 1-10 jpeg images, no more than 500km in size of the work you would like considered for the exhibition. Email the jpeg images to Glenda E. Jones at glendajones@att.net by April 15, 2015.  Notification of art chosen will be sent out by April 20, 2015.

Artwork must be delivered in a black wooden frame 20” x 24” in size. There will be a hanging fee of $60.00 for all non HAAV members.  HAAV members must be current with their dues to the organization. Artwork must be clearly labeled on the back with title of the piece, and artist’s name. Each artist must submit a one page bio and a short artist statement, 100 words or less to be included in the program. Art intake will be on Friday, May 15, 2015,  6-9 pm, Saturday, May 16, 2015, 2-6 pm, Thursday, May 28, 2015, 6-9 pm and Friday, May 29, 2015, 6-9 pm.
