In Defense of Rachel Dolezal—white woman who identifies as black, now jobless, may soon be homeless

Have many of us asked ourselves the question: How is it that society amply rewards countless racist criminals for their assault and murder of African Americans—whether it is with monetary or found innocent in the eyes of the law—and how many in the African American community, as well as many in the society at large, have strongly denounced Rachel Dolezal as “Delusional and a fraud.”for her identity as African American? How is it that many in the community are not coming to her defense? Does she deserve her pitiable fate because she feels strongly about her identity with the African-American community? Can the community afford to give up a proven defender who has fought for their dignity? In no uncertain terms does Rachel Dolezal deserve her present circumstances.     “No one today is purely one thing. Labels like Indian, or woman, or Muslim, or American are not more than starting-points, which if followed into actual experience for only a moment are quickly left behind. Imperialism consolidated the mixture of cultures and identities on a global scale. But its worst and most paradoxical gift was to allow people to believe that they were only, mainly, exclusively, white, or Black, or Western, or Oriental. Yet just as human beings make their own history, they also make their cultures and ethnic identities.
