James Baldwins Black Lives Matter Speech 1965
This video contains a speech by James Baldwin in 1965 on “Black Lives Matter”. Baldwin is riveting. He speaks not as a man who maybe searching for identity, but as a man who knows who he is. James Baldwin has “Self”. He asserts his right to be seen and treated as an American. He is not just speaking reflexively but about entitlement of his people. I cannot do justice in describing James Baldwin’s delivery. The video is 24 minutes and it is worthwhile viewing.

James Baldwin was always so eloquent in his writings and especially in this speech! He was always on the pulse of reality and society, and so far ahead of his time.
