Together with Columbia University School of the Arts and The Studio Museum in Harlem, PEN World Voices is thrilled to host an uptown, pop-up installment of POEMobile, a hand-painted truck that projects poems onto buildings and underscores them with music and live performances. Come join us as POEMobile—produced by City Lore and Bowery Arts + Science—makes its way to 125th Street, bringing poetry to life in the Museum’s courtyard and atrium. The evening’s performances will highlight a new box set of twelve African poetry chapbooks edited by Chris Abani and Kwame Dawes and published by Akashic Books. Bob Holman serves as Master of Ceremonies and featured performers include The Mighty Third Rail, Toni Blackman, Mo Beasley, Salieu Suso, and Mykela Moore and Fernando Garcia of Youth Stand of Brooklyn Community Services/Coney Island.

This program is free with Museum admission
suggested donation of $7 for adults and $3 for students and seniors.
