Thad Jones (March 28, 1923- August, 21, 1986) & Mel Lewis (May 10, 1929 – February 2, 1990). Thad Jones was the younger brother of the amazing pianist Hank Jones — his youngest brother Alvin Jones was, for a decade, the drummer with Miles Davis.
