2015 Greetings to all of you who are looking excitedly through the ROUTES Archives.
For all of you now reading my 2015 Greeting, I would like you to know that I am as surprised, as many of you are that I’ve made the decision, once again, to publish ROUTES, A Guide to African-American Culture. The stirring up of the old ROUTES mission was accidentally stimulated less than 2 months ago. For better or worse, I have embraced the adventure, and, the challenges that accompany it.
So be patient with me, while it’s going to take a little time to reconnect to the old and the new channels. I estimate, in the very near future, a new and exciting ROUTES will be found on this site. In the mean time, read some of the contents of past issues. There you will find wonderfully informative articles and exciting cultural activities reflecting images of New York City’s African-American community. Spread the word that ROUTES is, once again, proudly reflecting the wonderful and vibrant contributions African-Americans make to the cultural fabric of the world — any of us Americans need to know about, and, appreciate. Share ROUTES’ content with your children; your neighbors; your fellow teachers; your universities; your fellow churchgoers; and no less, your FaceBook and Twitter friends.
This new and exciting ROUTES Adventure should not be experienced by me alone. You too can find creative ways to insure that ROUTES remains healthy. What does that actually mean? Well, it means spreading the word; sending us information about cultural happenings in your communities; advertising on this site; creative writers sharing ideas with us; using the Comment Section to let us know what you’re thinking. In short, we should make ROUTES a collaborative Adventure.
I would be remiss if I did not thank Fabio Mancini in Munich, Germany for making it possible for us all to once again reconnect. And what does he want in return? A Knicks Jersey — He’s getting the Knicks Jersey in 10 days
So my friends, let the ROUTES Adventure begin!
