Exhibition: Edges of Ailey at the Whitney Museum of American Art
In honor of Alvin Ailey‘s enduring legacy, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City is presenting “Edges of Ailey”, the first large-scale museum exhibition celebrating his life, dances, influences, and lasting impact. This dynamic showcase features visual art, live performances, music, archival materials, and a multi-screen video installation, offering an immersive experience into Ailey’s personal and creative journey.
The exhibition is open from September 25, 2024, through February 9, 2025, in the museum’s expansive fifth-floor galleries. As part of the exhibition, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater is in residence for one week each month, presenting live performances that further explore Ailey’s legacy.
