Kasper Collin’s discussion of “I Call Him Morgan”
I can still remember the night when I first heard Lee Morgan‘s Sidewinder. My wife and I gave a party in our small apartment in Queens and a young white couple brought the Sidewinder LP with them. We partiers must have danced wildly and replaying this tune 20 times that evening. I only mention “white couple” (forgot their names) because I don’t think of U.S. white couples, in the late 1960s, having had an affinity for Jazz.
