Prince Rogers Nelson was a true musical legend

Prince Rogers Nelson known simply as Prince, was a musical genius who has left an indelible mark on the world of music. Born in 1958 in Minneapolis Minnesota, Prince showed aptitude for music from an early age. He quickly developed his skills on multiple instruments.

One of the first instruments that Prince learned to play was piano. He reportedly taught himself to play by ear. He quickly became proficient on the instrument. His piano skills would later become key component of his signature sound.
In addition to piano Prince also learned to play guitar at a young age. He was known for his virtuosic guitar playing. He incorporated guitar solos into many of his songs. His unique style and technical prowess on the guitar set him apart from other musicians of his time.
Prince’s career began in the late 1970s. He released his debut album “For You” at the tender age of 19. The album showcased his exceptional songwriting abilities. He had the ability to seamlessly blend genres such as funk pop, rock and R&B.

Over the next four decades Prince would go on to release over 30 albums and win numerous awards for his work. One of Prince’s most iconic albums was “Purple Rain,” released in 1984. Songs like “When Doves Cry” and “Purple Rain” became instant classics. They solidified Prince’s status as a musical legend. Aside from his solo work, Prince was also known for his collaborations with other artists. He worked with musicians such as Sheila E., Morris Day and Apollonia Kotero. Together they created some of the most memorable songs of his career. His willingness to experiment with different sounds and styles set him apart from his contempora.

Tragically Prince passed away in April 2016 at age of 57 due to an accidental drug overdose.
