💐Betty Carter (Aka Lillie Mae Jones), Transitioned September 26, 1998, was a Jazz singer known as Betty Bebop Betty for her scatting technique and improvisational musical abilities that separated her as a Jazz artist. She was one of the first jazz musicians and woman to start her own record label Bet-Car Records (1969). She was apart of many famous bands and even received the National Medal of Arts from Bill Clinton. #jazz #music #musician
