Valerie June
Tennessee-born singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Valerie June is inspired by country, folk, blues, and traditional Appalachian music. With a voice that “falls in a lineage line between Eartha Kitt and Erykah Badu, with hints of the young Esther Phillips and even Dolly Parton” (All Music Guide), June accompanies herself on guitar, banjo, and lap steel to create a unique brand of Americana that she describes as “organic moonshine roots.”
