🎂Sharon Redd, born October 19, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia, was a Disco/R&B singer, actress and member of Bette Midler‘s backup group Harlettes and sang backup for Barry Manilow, Helen Reddy and formed Formerly of the Harlettes — Sharon Redd, Ula Hedwig, Charlotte Crossley. Sharon also had acting roles in numerous United States television shows. For nearly three years, she toured Europe as a solo singer and even hosted her own popular TV show in Australia. In the early seventies, when Sharon returned to the United States, Bette Midler offered her an opportunity to sing with Bettes’ backup singers Harlettes. Sharon and the other two members split from the Harlettes to form Formerly of the Harlettes. One of their hit singles was ” Does Your Mama Know About Me”. Disco Diva Sharon recorded hit singles “In The Name Of Love” and “Never give you up“.
