The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. (NEC) celebrates its 48th producing year with Michael Bradford’s play, Fathers and Sons directed by Mary Hodges. “Fathers and Sons” tells the story of Marcus Goodwater who has done everything in his power to have a family and to be the kind of father that his own was not. Yet in a simple moment, he loses his child and his perfect world falls apart. In the midst of navigating this dilemma, his own father, Leon, arrives bringing the ghost of his father, Bernard, in tow. In the space of one night, loves are won and lost in an attempt at forgiveness and the possibility of redemption. The play features Harvey Gardner Moore, Briana Maia, L.B. Williams and Marcus Naylor with set design by Patrice Davidson, lighting design by Ves Weaver, costumes design by Niiamar Felder and sound design by Jacqueline Anscombe.
