Birthday Greetings Sean “Diddy” Combs
🍾Sean Combs was born on November 4, 1969, in Manhattan’s Harlem in New York City and was raised in Mount Vernon. His long list of aliases have included; “Diddy, P. Diddy, Puffy and Puff Daddy. His continued accomplishments prove, this young man has one thing on his mind SUCCESS. His on-the-job training as a rapper, record executive, and record producer was the reason so many doors opened for him. But it is his genius and being a quick study that catapulted him to an international conglomerate and branding entrepreneur. After two years as a business major at Howard University, he left the campus life to learn the business of music as an intern at Uptown Records. That experience led him to start his own record label Bad Boy Records where he produced such artists as Mary J. Blige, Biggie Smalls, Faith Evans and Mariah Carey and earned three Grammy awards. His star continued to shine as he moved to the stage and film, starring in Carlito’s Way: Rise to Power (2005). He played Walter Lee Younger (the role originally played by Sidney Poitier) in the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun and the television adaptation. Always a sporty dresser, he started the “Sean Jean” clothing line. He then added a men’s cologne to his empire called “I Am King.” He also owned two restaurants, named after his son Justin, in New York City and Atlanta, GA. In 2007, Combs helped to develop the Ciroc vodka brand for a 50% share of the profits. If any song fits Combs during his birthday it’s “I Did it my Way.” Reckless Dream Photography, CC BY 2.0, via Wikimedia Commons.
