The Schomburg Center present holiday “Black Tie Edition” of First Fridays, popular monthly social gathering. In celebration of the Schomburg’s 90-year milestone, this event will pay tribute to a rich history and vast collection that is accessed across the world.
Celebrate 90th anniversary at this special cocktail affair with light hors d’oeurves from an award-winning restaurant and a complimentary glass of wine. Khalil Gibran Muhammad, Director of the Schomburg Center will give the opening remarks for the evening.
Groove the night away with beats by a guest DJ. The evening’s host Dhalimu from Dhali’s Closet. There will also be a special musical performance from Acute Inflections, signature drinks and extended viewing gallery hours . Exhibitions: The 75th Anniversary of the American Negro Theatre, Unveiling Visions: The Alchemy of the Black Imagination and Black Suburbia: From Levittown to Ferguson.
