You Make Me Wanna Say Happy Birthday Usher
🍾Usher Raymond IV, born October 14, 1978 in Dallas, Texas, is a singer, songwriter, actor, and businessman (Owner of Raymond-Braun Media Group record label). Usher’s first 12 years were spent living in Chattanooga, Tennessee, then his family uprooted themselves and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. At the age of six, Usher was strongly encouraged, by his single mom and best friend, Jonetta Patton, to sing in the church choir — she continues to manage his career. Usher was 14 when he recorded his debut album, “Usher”, for LaFace Records. After high school, Usher recorded his second album “My Way” with So So Def Records. True to the album’s title, Usher wrote 5 of the 9 tracks including the mega hit single “You Make Me Wanna” that remained on Billboards 1997 Hot 100 Chart for 37 weeks. “You Make Me Wanna” also garnered Usher the 1997 Soul Train Award for Best R&B Single by a Male. Usher landed a recurring role on “Moesha” (1997-1999), a syndicated episode television program — his music videos had piqued the interest of producers. Usher is one of the best-selling music artists of all times — 80 million recordings sold worldwide. At 43-years-old, there’s no evidence he’ll be slowing down anytime soon.
