Whitfield Lovell’s” Red Series” at DC Moore Gallery
The quest for freedom is something we all have to be conscious and aware of. no one is free unless we are all free, and it’s an ongoing journey” — Whitfield Lovell
Recently, I attended the powerful opening of Whitfield Lovell: Le Rouge et Le Noir vernissage, October 16 – December 18, 2021 at the DC Moore Gallery It was fabulous tour- de-force exhibition of his new work. For this series- Le Rouge et Le Noir- Lovell is inspired by symbolisms and metaphors of the color red: life, blood, courage, will, passion, and of course, LOVE. His assemblages exude a resonant quiet POWER. His reverent drawings, which he pairs with vintage items, allows Lovell to bring forth powerful DNA associations to the viewers. “I know these people” said my spirit. Whitfield Lovell is a Master@Work.
Run, don’t walk to see this wonderful show! WHITFIELD LOVELL never disappoints.
